Hi guys,

Does anyone know how I reset my engine management light? I let my Freelander Td4 go a bit low on diesel and it caused me to have problem starting but now seems to be running fine, apart from the engine malfunction light in the dashboard won't go out? I have been advised to try and reset this and then if it comes back on, I'll know if something else is wrong!

Any idea's.

Thankyou

You need to find the fault. Its come on for me a few times.Once it was a dirty air filter I had a hole in the exhaust flexi joint I hadn't noticed prior.A nother time it was a warning that the turbo was on its way out .Another time it came on after 10 miles each time and the rev counter and speedo died whenever this happened, turned out to be a knackered Crank position sensor CPS.
You need to find the fault could need to just bleed the fuel system or you might have filthin the fuel filter or fuel sender.

Hi,

Don't mean to be such a woman, but how do I know if its just a case of bleeding my fuel thingy? I don't really want to be splashing the cash at maybe's, How can I check for fault codes without going to a garage or How can I reset the fault to see if it was just the fact that I had let her run too low on fuel?

Thanks:croc:

u dont have to spend money on maybe's or energy on doing needless things...u just have to scan the baby first then fix just what is wrong......or maybe it just need a reset

Okay, So how do I do a reset Please?
I know there is nothing else wrong with her as its just had its MOT and I had everything that needed it, fixed!?!?!?

Thanks

Connect scanner....read trouble code...remediate...clear trouble code........if the warning lamp is on there is an active fault code logged.
