Engine Light on at high revs

Hi fellas

hope everybody had a great new year

I’ve got an issue on my td4 Freelander today in the sense that when I rev past about 2,3K the engine light will come on. When I take my foot off the light goes instantly.


This is coming off the back of an issue I had earlier today also where it wouldn’t start, felt like the immobiliser was kicking in. It would tick but not turn over. Two could be completely unrelated but I’m unsure.


Any help appreciated

Charging light, oil light or eml light ?

You need to run the live data with a suitable diagnostic reader while making the light come on. My guess is the low pressure fuel pump isn't delivering enough fuel pressure to maintain correct supply pressure at the speeds where the MIL comes on.

It's unlikely to be immobiliser related, if the engine cranks over ok.
