td4 auto
just curious, but will the hawkeye sync a different ecu to the immobilizer ecu.
my nanocom will do this for the discovery td5 was hoping a hawkeye would do same for the freelander 1
thanks

Depending on the age of your Freelander and the immobilisation system fitted then you cannot use a second hand Ecu as the security code between the two parts cannot be overwritten

I had to get my immobiliser rolling code synchronised to the engine computer when I knocked it out of sync. Main dealer did it. But I was using the same items that worked together before.

thanks for the replies.actually i am converting a kv6 auto to a td4 auto.
i have the matching engine ecu,immobilizer,body control,steering colum,key etc.
i was hoping there was a diagnostic tool like the nanocom i use for my td5s for learning the ecurity codes.
i guess t4 test book will be the only one available at this time that will do this.
i have not started this conversion yet and was trying to get as much tech info as possible before i start.
so i assume that if one of you was to have to replace the engine control module you would have to have a dealer do it.

thanks

You will need:

replacement auto gear box as the gearing on v6 and t4d auto's is different
replacement ird as the gearing is different on v6 and td4
replacement computers and wiring
replacement fool tank
replacement eggsource

this list continues...

Peeps have asked about this in the past. It's not worth the money/hassle.

I have all that you have mentioned.fool tank and eggsource are on order.
having done several td5 conversions thought I would challenge myself.
will probably buy a blackbox fault mate or t4 test book as converting land rovers is my second at home hobby/extra income.

Just to confirm... you changed a v6 FL1 to diesel by swopping the engine, auto, ird, all computers etc?

yes.i live in canada so cannot simply buy a td4 freelander.i have been doing discoverys for a few years and thought i would tackle a freelander for my wife.
turned out very well.i am still waiting for the bracket that the fuel filter/lift pump housing bolts to.so have it zap strapped in place for now.
