Hi All

Just picked new dico up from my local garage after paying £200 smakers to change my timming belt.

Drove 2 mile down the road sudden loss of power called the recovery man out. Told him about the work i just had done, he took oil filler cap off turned engine over told me that my crankshaft is spining BUT the push rods are not moving said that either belt tensioner has slackened off or possibly new belt snaped. i just wondered what sort of damage does that leave me with guessing the push rods are gona be bent but being overhead valve would dammage not b as bad ?

ye tha the plan for monday morning, bet they probably try every excuse to say it was something else thats failed an all tha ****

No mate it happened after they had shut for weekend, (weekend international day kick off 14.30) i wounder if this was part of the problem. I am going to ring them first thing monday. You know what its like up here in the valleys.

well the garage have said the belt has failed so they will cover the bill of that and if any engine damage to :)

have you got it sorted ? what was wrong with it because ive got the same problem and need it sorting soon as.... been on diagnostic showing up no faults but could be electric, no warning lights on dash just sudden loss of power.. its starts but sounds as if its running idle. can you help me
Thanks x
