engine diabled p38

hi
tried to get in and start the rangie today ,pressed the remote and nothing ,got in with key tried to start it and engine immobiler is on ,i changed the bateries in remote and moved the car down road to see if it makes a differance ,pls help im stuck .

This has happened to me a couple of times. The way I got the immobiliser off was to use the "Emergency Key Access" procedure which involves locking and unlocking the drivers door a number of times according to your EKA code which is specific to the vehicle and obtainable from a Land Rover dealer on production of your registration document to prove bona fides.

I've had this a couple of times, remote appearing not to work, got worried about getting stranded, so using the Rovacom, I disabled the alarm & imobiliser, now if the remote packs up (I only have the 1) I can now get in via the key & start it with the key!
Not too bothered about not having alarm/imob since the bad guys arn't after 10 year old p38's & the LED on the dash still flashes

thanks modelman,so would the main dealer dissarm the alarm for me ? is that what they use the (rovercom)

I don't think the main dealer uses Rovacom, they use 'Testbook' & I'm not sure, but I don't think it can disable the alarm/imob.

Don't bet on it. It is easier to steal your 10 year old RR than a brand new one! They might not want to sell it, but it is still worth a lot stripped for parts. If you look at the stats the vehicles that are stolen the most are older vehicles, not new ones.

You can always get into the car with the key, even if the alarm is armed with the fob, and you can always start the vehicle with the emergency access procedure should the fob fail to work, it's not particularly difficult - although it is time consuming!

right got the access code and put in in ,and all works fine now ,but im going to get a spare fob as i have not got one , i suppose this is a main dealer job so i wil ring in the morning , would all they require is the chassis number?

i had this prob i had to take the car and the logbook and prove of who i was before they`d touch mine
