Engine Colour

Want to give this engine a bit of a touch up with paint before I stick bits on it, but need to know the correct Colour, some say its duck egg blue but it looks bloody green to me, then again so does this 1L Duck Egg Blue Heat Resistant Paint, Car, Engine, Brake, Radiator, Calliper, | eBay

Duck egg blue is a green paint. Try paint man.

Admiralty light grey paint is blue ...

this is what i used, just over half a can 2 coats and it looks good.

yes.1/2 a can brushed on,it could be much better but doing the whole vehicle kept me busy,i hand painted all the bodywork as best i could.

I used sod all. Just scraped the crap off.

It’ll be full of oil again in a week.

No that is Nice, just got all my brand new 12 volt bits to fit today but will have to wait untill paint comes Monday before I can fit them, hope I can get a nice finish like that with my Brush

Aerosol brake cleaner is good for shifting the old oil deposits.

Put a little some of it on today, just a very thin coat but looks like its gonna turn out decent with a couple of coats

Well whats going on with this paint, tried a bit on the other day on top of the original military paint in pic above, and its just Flaking off, dont know whats gone wrong there is it the paint ?, or should I have put a primer or something on first,

Looks like a good key and degrease was in order.

^^ this one. Looking at the condition of the rest of the engine that has not been painted I would suggest it is not clean enough to take the paint properly. Needs to be fully degreased and clean and anywhere accessible give a quick rub over with some sandpaper to give it a key.
