Hiya

I have for about the last 2 years been using millers fuel cleaner

Have recently seen the terraclean system being advertised and was wondering if any of you guys have used one of these units please

As always there are slaes hype and sometimes there doesn't seem to be in proof that these actually work

Just wondered what you guys thought

TerraClean Challenge

Thanks as always

Gary

I have a friend that had a petrol 7 series done and he was getting much better MPG
and a far smoother engine, I think his car had done around the 200K mark when it was done,
still going strong and better MOT results as well..

Not done it myself, but its worth thinking about as part of the long term maintenance,

How much does it cost

internet blurb sais £100+

i'd need more tech. info to make up my mind ..
ok .. maybe it does decarbonise .. but what are the possible downsides ?
e.g. does it leave a residue .. etc etc etc .. and a zillion other questions ..

on the other hand there be favourable comments about it on various internet.forums

looks like it could be useful for vehicles that have done higher mileage
and/or vehicles that are always driven in sedate manner .. or lots of stop 'n go city driving

~~~~~~~~~
my preference would be to ..
1 .. clean out the intake manifold .. and egr valve ..
2 .. use good quality fuel and engine oil
3 .. insure against water and diesel bug fuel contamination
( http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/2409712-post6.html )
3 .. once in a while work the engine hard ..
i.e. get it up to full working temperature first .. then at a moderately high rpm ..
do a high speed run up a long hill for example .. or a spirited merge onto a motorway ..
or 'drop a gear full go-pedal overtaking sequence' when safe to do so ..
that will get the air and combustion gases flowing ..
burn off carbon deposits .. and expel built up soot out the exhaust ..
although i guess '3' does add wear ' tear to various components .. tyres .. and such ..
and .. not very environment friendly ..
~~~~~~~~

used to be said that 'cleaning-out-carbon-deposits' can cause an engine to start using oil
'cause the carbon deposits in the cylinders would help seal worn piston rings ..
.. don't know if that's a viable theory with modern engines ..
