So it is I must be getting dyslexic in me old age. It'll be a 2.25 as well then. Definately go for the 200tdi there's lots of threads and step by step guides to doing this swap.

i wouldn't mind one but its wiring it up, so i guess 200tdi then, what needs to be changed, exhaust i can make

also do the 200 tdi's suffer from cracked heads like the 2.25 diesels?

not that i know of. aint done one but i would guess air,water pipes, radiator & intercooler, but im pretty sure u could source the lot.

Best bet is to buy a 200tdi discovery use all the bits you need then sell whats left axles chassis interior etc then strip the body and weigh it in for scrap. You can pick one up on ebay for £500

Was thinking the very same thing, should i use my defender lt77 gearbox or the disco one? i have heard the gearing will be wrong on my gearbox as it was on a 2.25

Or you could give me £200 and take my 2.25 diesel engine away. Its still in if you want to hear it running.

Now if you'd said £50 or even £75 I might hae agreed but £200 is taking the **** FFS Disco engines are starting to go for that price now. He can have my 93 disco for £500 if he wants it and I'll even deliver it to him if he pays the cost of fuel and my return coach fare.

198K on the Clock i'm it's 3rd owner previous owner had it for 11years. I've been to wales and back in it several times and have used it to go from Hull to leeds every weekend since January. It returns an average of 33.5mpg. If you seriously want it I'm more than happy to drive it down to you. That should be proof enough that it's a good engine.

how far from me are you do you think, how much?

about 250 miles so about £40. Plus whatever a coach ticket TB to hull would be.

i will have a think about that one, obviously what ever engine i buy i will rebuild anyway
