hi all.

just a quick question.

Is it possible to remove the pipe from engine breather/ oil filler hole to the air filter box?? (2.5TD) would it cause damage/ loose power?

reason being is that there seems to be too much oil sitting in the bottom of the air box.

thanks a lot :)

I would put it into the top of an old oil bottle , as your engines probably breathing a bit, if you leave it dangling, might drop oil, mind you it will stop your footwells and chassis rusting :D

Won't do any harm an will stop the possibility of yer injun running on the fumes. Most just bung the tube to drain onto the chassis, but apparently this should fail an MOT an it int a very good solution so the best thing to do is wot Daft sez an put a catch pot on the end or you can get speshull breather filter things, the hot hatch humpy thumpy boy racer shops sell em.

Mines got a bit o garden hose comin out the filler cap and goin down the side of the engine to bypass the filter from bein clogged - just bin through the mot and it failed on several things none of which were that!

Yes they lift the bonnet for the MOT, an I dint say it would fail an MOT but it apparently should, just wot I've bin towld. Mine is just an open tube and hasn't failed cos of it.

thanks guys. think the 'let it drain' option is good for the moment. as for the MOT, that is the very least of my problems, rotter rear end is number 1 on the fix list at the mo!
