I have read Haynes on how to clean the engine breather filter on my 110 300tdi and it has to have a new gasket fitted at the same time.

As you can see from the pics the two braided pipes and the rubber one look quite oily and this makes me think about extra pressure or maybe the gasket is leaking?

I have 2 Landys on the drive at the moment....I looked at my 90 300tdi and the breather filter and pipes are clean... had a look underneath both for any signs of leaks and spotted that a 'wading plug' and washer on the 110 in the timing case? (See last pic) Could this be causing pressure to build up?

Should I replace the braided pipes and the rubber one (not sure what that is) or will they clean up?

Should I take out this 'wading plug' for general use?... many thanks in advance :)

take off the pipes and give em a good clean up. while your at it take off the cyclone breather and give that a good clean out. Let em dry then stick em back on.
Chances are they have never been cleaned so are gonna be a tad oily.
Oh and you may as well take out the wading plug if your not wading.

Thanks for that, I will find the cyclone breather and give that a clean as well. :)
