Engine bay electrical noise

Hi all, hope you’re keeping safe. Just a question about an issue we’re having with our 2009 Freelander 2 (manual): there’s a loud electrical tone/hum from behind the grill, almost always can hear it. Any idea how to clear it or fix it?

Have you lifted the bonnet ,to see if the cooling fans are running?

I couldn’t see the fans running.
As an aside, the engine temperature has been ok since the noise has been on.

I do recall a youtube video about a motor actuated valve that has a habit of stripping its gears on FL2's. If I remember what it is I will put it on. Good news is its fixable. Shure someone on here will know what it is.

That’s absolutely fantastic help, good memory - I found the video that pairs with that and the sound is very similar. Also shows how to replace the assembly.

And here’s another.

Its some kind of throttle body that helps it to idle. Unplug it see if the noise goes. You can refurbish them, but I would just put a new one on.
