Oh a friend of mine was a samaritan volunteer for a while, she liked helping folk but gave it up because of the number of male callers who had the phone in one hand and small appendage in the other!

Must be the OP.

Tbh, I have dealth with a few customers with that problem. What he did was on par with tearing out the battery. Force power off, to be avoided where possible. But the machine had hung. Easier to use dell lve chat. No robots, just fire up and wait. Much better.

I suspect Buddy hasn't got the cash. Lets look at the evidence.

Buying second hand parts.
Didn't want to pay shipping to return a product.
Goes to a cheap but **** garage.
Works for a large UK company that gets more complaints than you can shake your dick at.

I suspect he can hardly afford RR ownership and is trying to do it on a budget.

Buddy hasn't got the cash....hahaha how about they don't have another spare part.
Second hand part..alternative buy new part - cost = value of the car why would anyone do that?
cheap **** garage? wrong
My RR is ny snow car, I live in the bottom of the valley and it is essential in winter to get out, and to tow my horsebox.

I hope these aren't the same guys who cracked the original in the first place?

Nope, that was cracked by another garage when the headgasket was done and glued up!! Well I can only presume that was done at that point, unfortunately its impossible to prove

Hi AntDB74, all I can say is that I have dealt with Emmotts on a few occasions and I have had no problems with them and I have been over to their garage/warehouse to have work done and spoken to joe who runs the business and found him to be ok and helpful. Hope you get sorted. ps I have no connections to Emmotts.
Thanks

Could be the garage deliberately playing silly buggers as they didn't supply the part. You know, well teach the tight arse to give us secondhand parts to fit:rolleyes:
Nope, they said they couldn't get one from their usual suppliers.
They told me a new part was not viable and were more than happy to fit a part if I could source one.

Anyway, its done now not a huge amount I can do about it!

Indeed, there is a risk in buying second hand parts. Not worth the risk IMO

Unless your saving £700, but I don't think this is the case lol

But you can't be expected to test everything you buy before fitting it ?

If its being bought as working then you would expect it that way. Some things can't be tested without being fitted to the vehicle.

Go check the price of a timing chain cover...come back and report it.....think you will find the saving is well over £700 in this instance!!

You might of needed a cover ! But the pump can be changed even for your old one !

Here show this to your man he might learn something
