Was watching a few of them on eBay there's been a couple finish all in the past few days.
One in particular which was of interest was (I think), a 2000/01 model which looked pretty tidy, but was listed with a few faults which made me suspicious. It had a few warning lights which wouldn't disappear, some problem with the gears, and some hole in the wing, all which put me off. I watched in surprise though as it counted down the last 15 minutes, and it had had no bids. Then in the last 30 seconds or so, somebody had a sneaky bid, and won the auction for 50 quid more than the starting price, at £1550, which I think was a good price in fairness. If my budget had allowed enough to buy it, and spend a good few hundred fixing it's faults I dare say I would have had a punt on it myself.

The adventurer is definitely on of the most desirable models, if not the nicest. Has a really nice, two tone tan/ beige interior, full length roof bars, and comes in a very modern orangey colour. Nice vehicles I reckon.

the one i bought i did a deal on it,i chopped in my volvo t5gt convertible and a few quid.the disco is as you say it is,this one has no faults as yet:rolleyes:.but i am sure that will change as time goes bye.:lol::lol:
 
Well, I was under the impression that TD5 discos, had a reputation for alot of electrical problems, but I'm not convinced that's the general opinion any more. I assume your disco is coil sprung, or has had a coil conversion done. The thought of air suspension makes me shudder.

that i don't know about the suspension,i will check it out in the morning.will be great if it is already on springs.as for electrical problems i will just have to deal with them if and when.the lads on here are great for giving the best info out on any problems that occur.:D
 
If its running correctly I can fix that for you!

There should be no smoke coming out of the exhaust and only the whir of the starter upon turning the key

i`ve had my td5 a couple of years and have had a few probs with the air suspension. this has led me to get my hands dirty sorting it out.
to be honest its a pretty simple system and i`m no guru.
most problems are easily sorted, i`ve even stripped the compressor down and fixed it. where as i`m sure a garage would have just replaced it at my expense.
it is very handy when carrying heavy loads and i would prefer it to springs.

If its a seven seater then air suspension was standard fit,doesn't mean that its still got it though

I'm also an ex range rover owner who had to switch over to this forum when i brought my adventeurer back in febuary.

So far i have replaced two ACE pipes because they rotted through, tail gate lock as i couldn't get it to work freely for more than 3 weeks, leaky sunroof, ride height sensor, new general grabbers AT and a new air freshner.

Which may seem like a lot but compared to my old P38 hasn't been too much hassel to undertake. Good Luck with yours :)

hi poochy???.yes compared to my last p38 this td5 will be a lot more user friendly.i have not even opened the doors on it yet since i got it last night.lets hope all is ok with it.:D:D
