1988 90 converted to 200tdi. I've got a little problem thats got me baffled. My heated rear screen wont turn off even though the light and switch are off, the rear side lights are permanently on even when the lights are turned off. The engine won't turn off with the key. If I take the key out and leave my foot on the brake the engine keeps running until I take my foot of the brake, then it stops then the dash lights come on. Sounds like fun doesn't it. Any of you clever people out there got any ideas coz I'm stumped.

remove inner rear panels behind the lights there will be a screw on the outside that does this,and check all the wiring you may find a wire has chaffed thru on some body work and causing a short,its worth a look

that wont affect the engines running.

Sounds to me like you have a short somewhere around the ignition switch. Check behind the dash, check all the earths. Check that the engine loom is plugged in correctly. Check where the wires enter the chassis at the front also.
