electrical fault ???

driving home tonight had 3 amigos come on
then immediately every dash light came on and car was in D
pulled over as i smelt electrical burning
turned it off
jumped out of truck and all lights failed to a dim and then went out

cant physically see anything wrong
battery as dead as a dodo (now on charge)

i suspect electrical short but cant see anything obvious

Seems like alternator failure on first sight, it can burn out as well, unlesws a pulley got stuck and the smoke came from the belt... short circuits used to blow fuses, if it starts with the fully charged battery measure voltage on it at idle, if it is below 13.5V the alernator is gone

couldn't see anything obvious so i re connect the battery and it started smoking

let the search for a new now begin

Alternator had BBQd itself all sorted now £255 from rimmer for for a Delphi OE one
