Just going to ask in case any one else had this happen.

My old C reg 90 2.5na just failed its mot on the hazard lights not working and rear fog light not working.

The indicators work, and I have tried swapping the bulb on the rear fog and still does not light up.

Going to get it looked at on monday, but just wondered if any one had this happen before and might know what could be causing it?

relay for the hazards. Corroded connections for the fog. you could easily run a new length of wire direct from battery to the foglamp and put a switch in the line. As a temp fix.

As Redhand said for the relay, and use a test lamp or a multimeter to check that you have 12V at the fog lamp.

Test it to a good earth!

It's more than likely that the lamp terminals are corroded and just need cleaning up!

Get a multimeter and check the connections (bullet connectors) for fog light. On mine it was being funny and was the connections inside the light that were dodgy. Had MOT next day so couldn't get a new light, so just cleaned it all up - took half an hour ish of messing, which for a £5 part was a bit silly, but had to be done.

If you've got the time to order one, get a new one (once you've checked bullet connections).

If you're putting a paddocks order in so you get cheap shipping, get it from there, otherwise there's options on ebay.

must admit the connectors in the fog light that held the bulb was very blue, and looked old. so could be them.

Had to order new headlight unit as the main beam did not work ether on the driver side, but that was sealed bulb type and rusted as anything so just going to upgrade that.

Where about on the car will i find the hazard lights relay?

Been out and looked at the fog light again, so prob best ordering a new one, tried the switch for the haz, seems to be clean no dirt or rust, haz light switch in off position lets indicators work in the on they dont work, but then nether do the haz lights.

Yea...the copper would clean off, but with the rust you'd be best replacing. Check with multimeter though that you're getting 12v across the two wires, otherwise it could be something else as well.

After swapping a tone of bits for no joy i found this to day,

I am guessing that this random wire not plugged into anything is what is causing all my problems, as i have now replace the flasher relay and the indicator relay with new ones.

I have traced it back and it goes to a these two wires, which i am guessing are head light related as they are the same as the wires that go into the back of my head lights.

The wires are plugged into the two fog/spot lights on the front that have been added some time in the past before i owned this wonderful rust bucket.

Now be deepest hope after a week of messing around is that reconnecting this wire will sort out all my problems, but my question is what should i be connecting the wire to?

I have tried touching the chassis with it, but made no difference, since this issue started less and less lights work on the car and the only lights working at the mo is the driver side head light and the rear fog light.

I think i am at the stage where i going to just pay to sort it, but would like to give it one last go before then an ideas?
