Electric windows work when they want!!

Hi all,

I have a problem with the windows on my 1999 4.0, they work fine for days then out of the blue they all stop working and start again when they feel like it.

Is this a common fault?
Every time i have taken it to my mechanic for this problem they work fine.
any advise will be appreciated

maybe rain getting in somwhere m8 messin up your electrics ,or a dodgy switch/s,my 4,0 windows are ok so not sure if common fault,

Is it possible that all the switches can stop working at the same time and then start working again at the same time?
Or is it something else that is causing the problem.
