hi. I have an 05 Freelander and the electric windows have always worked fine. This morning I used the car (and windows no problem) but this afternoon only the drivers side window is working. The other three (passenger front and both rear windows) will not work. Neither the drivers door switches or the individual switches on any doors work them. The tailgate window does still work. I have no particular mechanical or technical knowledge but would like to learn and try and fix it myself. Should I change the fuses first?

Also as the passenger window is stuck fully open is there a way to close it until I solve the problem?

Yes do check all the fuses first.
I am in the same boat only just replaced the tailgate mechanism as funds allow. I took the mechanism out of one of the rear doors and propped the window up with a piece of wood, then cabled tired that to the door frame until I got the part. (That lasted a whole month lol) here are some spares, prices, a couple of vids and some instructions. Good Luck :)
