Couple of questions about the wiring on my 03 Td4 5 door

I am investigating why the rear drivers side will not work at all and the rear passanger side will only work from the front switch only as if the console inhibit switch is depressed (its not).

What I find is when the former switch in the door is pressed the SG wire rises from 0 to 12v indicating no ground but the console switch uses a separate ground.

My problem with working out what is wrong comes down to the cct diagram. There is a thin red lead coming from the switch into the loom which is not on the diagram, anybody know what this lead is and where it goes to.

Incidentally my RAVE disk has a blank second page for the front window diagrams (page 31) so I have no wiring for the door end.

In part to answer my own question, the thin red wire which is not on the circuit diagram is the switch illumunation.

Think I've actually got two problems, the rear window inhibit switch is not closing so the door switches won't work. The other is the right rear mechanism has siezed although I think the moter is OK. I can hear a clunk (which I initially thought was a relay) when I operate the console switch. Just waiting for the bleedin rain to stop so I can start looking further.
