electric window jamed

I know its different on a disco but mine always jams on the way up about half way. If I get hold of the front edge of the glass and pull backwards (ie toward the rear of the car) then it goes up. Such as small inconvenience and a mission to take the door to bis that I havent attempted a repair yet.

Have you check you have power to the motor?
Does the window move at all?
has it come out of the runners in the door?

Take off the door panel and take a look at the scissor mechanism. Make sure that you have free play and that the window is sitting in the correct position. If not make sure the window is sitting squarely in the metal holders. If so, it looks like you got a motor or electrical prob. Also take a !close! look at the wiring harness that runs into the door. You may have a broken wire there. Check the switch as well.

Thanks for your help.. The strange thing is its working again... I all ready removed the panel earlier and found most of the parts inside were wet.. but all in order... the door must have leaked when I washed my jeep a few hours before hand. Could the moisture break an electrical connection momentarily...or is the motor on the blink?
