Electric fan for 2.5Td ??

hi there.

Is it possible to fit a 200tdi electric radiator fan to a 2.5td and remove the viscous fan?? does it still provide the same cooling?

yeah you can fit a leccy fan from anything onto it so long as you can get the thermo switch installed. you might be best to find a rad with switch already in it and sell yer old rad on LZbay.

Thats cool. do you know which make of radiator with lec fan would fit the original housin on the 90 or would it have to be treaked?

Tape measure and a visit to a breakers is probably your best bet. Ideally you want one with the same or larger surface area as your current one I'd measure yours up and make a drawing location of mounts inlet outlet etc. and take it with you to a scrap yard then hunt around till you find something that looks like it will fit.

just had a thought.
how does the enigine regulate the temp an operate the fan??? do you wire it straight to the thermostat or do you need an additional thermo in the engine somewhere??

Aye but that was fitting a sensor to the existing plumbing . getting a car/van rad with the sensor built in is easier if you can find one that fits.
