EKA code

well it worked at 5pm last night but not at 9am this morning !! It did let me use the eka code though.
so I get home ok lock using the key , about 1hr later I go out to start removing the head liner (I still get the odd drip) unlock with the key , open door , NO ALARM put key in and it starts.
I'm wondering if using the eka code disables the alarm/immobiliser until a fob is used again?? this would explain why it wouldn't take the eka code the other day, it was already disarmed??

anyway , removed the headliner and there is loads of condensation on the roof , when I looked at the receiver there was a wire just pushed loosely into gap between the roof skins. I am presuming this is the earth as it has a metal loop on the end to allow it to be screwed somewhere.
I undid one of the nuts holding the receiver to the roof and put the earth there , redid the bolt and presto the fob is working again!!.
hopefully this is a cure and it was the condesation freezing and breaking the contact for the earth.

well its not cured , went to go out tonight and nothing again!
lots of condensation , but will need to wait for rainy day to find leak. no sign of corrosion on receiver , in fact looks quite shiny and new.
next step is to take glove box out and see whats on the bulkhead.

the eka code does disable alarm and i can use the key to get in and start it day to day but i dont know if i have an alarm? the red led lights up to show its immobilised but unlock with the key and light goes out.
usually if I lock with key then return to car and unlock with key the alarm still goes off.
Dont suppose anyone in surrey has the diagnostic kit to read bcu?? stealers quoted £55-£110 just to plug in for that money i'm tempted to get a new receiver for £35 and fit it to see.
