egr

Hi every1,

how use all doing i have a question that all of use will think is really silly but i am new to the disco thing etc but have liked them since i was young, what is the egr and what does it do, how do you blnk it off and what will happen i have a m plate 94 300tdi es if that heps with the question.

don't just go ahead and blank it please... there is a groundswell of opinion either way and at the end of the day it's your choice... suffice it to say the blank camp are louder so many people just go ahead and blank without thinking it through...

wtf is that all aboot then ? could have sworn i was browsing a thread about egr's or is it just a nasty case of tinned spam ?

I've just done my egr on my 94 disco. Took 20 mins tops. Came home from work with the engine still hot, put on some gardening gloves (the wife got all happy and thought I was going to do my husbandly duties!) and undid the two allen bolts.
The rest was straight forward, loads of gunk inside that I cleaned out, blanked off, new hose on and away you go.
Took it for a quick test drive but immediately felt the difference. Proper test tomorrow when I go to work.
So for me, a great thing to do, but as said before, loads of information both ways.
