Egr

Could anyone help please?
I am going to blank my egr of on my TD5. A friend of mine has told me that he did his 300 by putting a small iron ball inside the vacume pipe,(something he found and bought of ebay). Does anybody know if this will work also would any alterations need to be made Such as timing.

EGR blank on a TD5 is a 5 min job.

Get an oval plate not a ball of ebay. you'll need a miniratchet with an extention and a 5or6mm bit in the end. undo the bolts and slip it in. Bottom bolt is the difficult one!...no other adjustment needed to the timing.

PS. soak the bolts in plus gas while you wait for it to arrive...

You can buy the blanking plate kits on eBay for about a fiver.

you need to remove the plastic fan cowling from the top of the radiator to get in.. 4 screws, no probs!

This forum must be responsible for disabling a lot of EGRs!

I got to mine without taking anything else off

I think we should get all the threads on EGRs and take the best bits out of them and roll them all into one mega thread on EGRs
