Had my TD5 on the test pc coz of power loss...sorted that out but now the stoopid EGR valve keeps jamming!! I noted that in the UK you guys can get an EGR blanking kit which totally removes the friggin thing. Has anyone fitted one of these kits? We dont get them in Africa:mad: What i did do is remove the vacuum pipe and plug it. When removing the EGR valve is it necessary to keep the vacuum actuator or whatever its called coz it goes to the pipe from the vacuum pump, the EGR valve and vents to atmosphere thru a filter as far as i can gather?

There are other ways of blocking it up without getting the blanking plate, on the 300tdi version it was possible to cut the pipe after the valve, squash the ends of the pipe together and solder them up.

I also welded the plunger shut on the manifold side of the valve so that it physically couldn't move anymore.

I am not sure what the pipe work is like on the TD5 but I am sure you can use your imagination. Whatever you do, make sure that nothing can end up going into to the inlet manifold and damaging your engine.
