egr removal kit?

Hi People,

In new here... i have a suspected EGR problems with both my TD5 and 300 TDI, belching out alot of smoke and loss in power.... i was going to replace the EGR valves when i came across these EGR removal kits.

Has any one else tried them before? What are they like?
They also sell landrover mafs so im going to get my part number and see if i can match mine up

Looks similar to mine I stuck on, got off ebay also, this worked fine for me I jst bought the blank plate though.

You don't have to buy a kit unless you really want to, I've just made a blanking plate for my exhaust, and bought an intercooler/manifold turbo hose that doesn't have the EGR join in it.

Where did you get the intercooler - manifold pipe without the EGR join ?. I've just seen the full kits on eBay but the length and the fact that the hose is just standard construction has me worried it will just collapse the first time I give it some beans. A plain solid pipe if that's what you mean to replace the EGR item would be better I think.

Got mine from Bearmach and it's just a standard hose, I think 300s were sometimes fitted with EGR and sometimes not, so it's just the hose for the model that doesn't have it as standard that you need. Had no problems so far.

I think I'll give one a go. Want to get it through it's impending MOT first before tweaking anything. Once it passes it's go, go, go with the good stuff.
