Egr bypass and hose

Hi guys

Have noticed for a while that when I blanket off the egr all is fine. But I have noticed a build up of oil gunk where the elbow hose is clamped on to the bypass. To my knowledge the juberly clips are tight. Could the elbow hose be split? or old enough that the gunk could leak through?

Tis completely normal for some oil to pass separator etc. Some folk say that some oil also gets by the turbo seals but I don't know enough to know how much would pass by a properly functioning unit.

some oil does tend to permeate through the hoses.
it worsens to the point where the hose rots and eventually splits so think about renewing if it leaks bad
