Next job is the EGT gauge , But just tried the EGR blanking plate bolts and they feel like they will snap like carrots . Does anyone know the thread size so i can have a TAP ready just in case . defender 300tdi , thanks

LOL , think im been to softly and keep chickening out fearing the worst . Keep spraying wurth rost off ice , fingers crossed or i will be back on here crying .

You’ve probably sorted this now but I did this last weeeknd. I just heated the bolts up with a blowtorch for about 2-3 minutes and they came out easy peasy. They didn’t budge before that even with WD40 on them for a week.

Sprayed with WD40 , Wurth ice , Kano , plus gas , and finally Liquid wrench . Not sure what worked , but as it was in for its MOT i said just loosen them off for me . He Said they came undone easily , hope so after that lot sprayed on . wd40 and wurth i don't think did much . Ive no cover to work and didnt fancy messing in this weather getting snapped studs out .
I can get on and fit the EGT gauge .
