seen this before on a jap diesel engine a few years ago....i too suspected it was running on engine oil..but it had run out of fuel..filled her up and away she went...the jap technical expert i spoke to said it was plausible and more than likely the air in the system caused the diesel to shoot up the pipes and give it a bit of a kick...sounded bollix to me but it happened..and we recreated it a couple of times with different motors..dont panic mate unitl it happens again..btw another method to stall em is to ram your arm up the air intake pipe..it starves the engine of air and wont run...i had to do this on a hilux that had buggered the turbo up in the workshop ...it ran on till i rammed me arm up the intake pipe..t stopped after a few seconds..mind you it made my bloody arm sore...thought it was gonna suck my fingers off..heehee

Back to Zeus crap again Sean.

If you want me to I Will ask the previous owner, new owner, and the other disco owner to do a write ups if they are all willing or I acan get them to email you with evidence. Dispite all the experts problems and probably quite good engineering advice I have never seen one go wrong but they were all fitted by a Indeed very competent Land Rover Mechanic that grew up building Landrovers and went through Landrover training taught offroad driving to the public and indeed ran his own Land Rover buisness for many years.

He was the man that said Bollix he is SpitfireMk1uk on ere. He also dosen't come on ere much due to some people. I have seen him laughing at some people posts. If you mail or PM him he will also say he has had no bad results from Zeus. Go ahead Make my day Punk!.

Anyway back to the issue. I was giving my experience limited I know but its all I can do is offer it. Some people come on here for good advice and giving them a broad range of answers from peoples genuine experiences helps, thats what makes Landyzone so great and you can take the **** outter the lesser people that can only dream of one day owning their childhood dream landrover when some of us are living the dream. Jai

That mechanic is my brother he brought home a camel trophy video of 1989 from Land Rover it showed all the broken bits, the mishaps and repairing of the 110's not the Edited version we all see on youtube. This was my fav video since I was 7 years old. It ranked higher that even the Flintstones! Since the first day I saw it I had dreamed of owning such a vehicle and when my chance came along I grabbed it Now I know its not a real camel but its exactly what I wanted when I was 7 and to this day I can only dream of a competition where I can test my vehicle, myself and my driving to the absolute extreme when I find such a comp I will do it. But to this day nothing compares to the camel trophy Especially that nancy puffy G4! Jai

I certainly welcome everyones speculation, as indeed I have endlessly speculated, but finding someone (two people now) that have actually experienced the same problem has settled me. You just can't argue with genuine experience, which is why I like it here. There are people with far more experience than me, and that does give them authority to speculate in an educated way, but yeah... nothing beats direct experience of a weird phenonema like that :)

over and out, for now :)
