I have a EDC disco auto , a couple of days ago it missed a couple of times whilst driving , this morning it started but as soon as I touched the acc pedal it stopped , It did this a couple of times but then it would not start, the check engine light comes on , then goes off and comes back on again .
Any ideas what to start looking at ?

I'd check the battery power output, the alternator and it's connections and all earth points ... battery/engine/chasssis etc

Does it have a throttle position sensor? If so I'd also check (or get it checked) this and associated wiring for faults/cahfing etc.

Found it Broken wire on No 4 injector soldered it back on job done

Great fix!

What on earth gave you the idea to do that?

Was the wire hanging off and you spotted it?

EDC disco is the auto that has fancy electronics with loads of sensors and also fly by wire throttle (no throttle cable) but lots to go wrong! cant beat a simple setup like on the manuals tho.

The car had had a couple of misses in previous couple of days , so thought was connection rather than hardware.
So started checking all multiplugs for corrosion , and broken loose wires .
It would start but then died esp if trying to accellerate, so thought timing input might be area. Unplugged inj timing plug and would not run at all, examined wires connecting to piezo sensor one as loose, took out inj and solder joint let go , so resoldered put it back and all OK , check engine light came on then went out so was pretty sure as turned key . Relief they arnt cheap to replace .
