Hi can anyone help have p38 2.5dse is the computer ecu the big black box attached to the back of the battery compartment. and if so has anyone tried to connect one of the hot fix kits to it would be grateful for any help in identifying. or any other advice many thanks.

The Engine ECM or DDE is mounted vertically inside this box....

The P38 is a raft of ECUs - the others are located under the front seats and in the Doors.

The Hot Start kit should come with instructions....I don't have one fitted but a few people on here do, so they would be able to help you out....

Hi many thanks for your help appreciated yes it does come with instructions but says must connect to the beam from the computer ecu. which i take to mean this one behind the battery. then i just have to find the right colour cables 3 in total which i think i have found but i was concerned i was connecting to correct ecu ? as you say maybe someone whose got one fitted may be able to help. but once again thanks your help.

That's the correct ECU. Open the black box behind the battery and then remove the cable from the ECU, for ease of access while installing the hotfix.

many thanks for your help have you actually fitted one of these it says to find three wires one blue grey which think i have found one red white which again think found but cannot seem to find brown wondering if it's different colour on here? again many thanks your response
