are the ecu chips interchangeable between 1997 diesel and 1999 diesel both dse spec if that helps

No egr on 97

Nephew has a 1997 none EGR diesel that has been chipped, possibly with a chip meant for the EGR ECU. It has some strange readings on Nanocom. The inlet air temp which has a preset of i think from memory -38.88 degrees on the EGR version is shown as -38.88 degrees fuel temp and the inlet air temp last time i looked with a warm engine was 112.3 degrees. It appears these two readings are transposed. So no don't fit a 1999 ECU into a 1997 car. Or visa versa.
