My wife was driving out freelander td4 she said it was sluggish when setting off and engine management light came on for about 40 yards then it went out and run fine 2 mile later it lost power engine management light came on and engine died we called breakdown out

Kinda don't know what to say here. It's well trailed on the site. Freelander's do not have build for longevity - too many fussy fandango parts. At high mileage n age you will never escape the inevitable problems. Big difference to older Landy's is complexity n simplistically. It's a bugger to have problems. I'd rather have them with mechanically simple wagon. The site is chokka with Freelander problems.
