Keep well away, Do you need the handles and the boot button? Waste of money, swallow the cost and go to the dealer, it will be a lot cheaper as you will not have spent £100 on useless stuff

The keys are over £100 from the dealer.

That's right. Read the ad. " the car will need coding to the keys" how much will that cost? new BECM ?
And if you buy one from Land Rover it will also need coding. If memory serves me the only problem would be that the alarm wouldn't work with the new key set.

The difference being the key from the dealer will be matched to the car and will only need syncing. Does the op really want to buy £100 set of keys and spend £thousands replacing the BECM ?

The car needs to go on T4 to tell it what key it is. 1,2,3 etc. It is still not a bad buy if someone has a broken lock because the key blades can be swopped. My point is it may not be the perfect solution but it depends on what your problem was to start.

The Becm does not have to be replaced...unless you go to someone with Test Book (Main Stealer for example). The Becm needs to be unlocked and the new FOB code entered, this 3 part code covers all keys, which do not have to be individually programmed. There are a few on here that can do this for you using the specialised Faultmate/Rovercom Becm module. If the Becm is already unlocked it does not have to be removed from the car for this to be done and is a quick job. If however it is locked, the Becm will have to come out to be unlocked but this is still a relatively easy task.

Quite a problem to have after shelling out £100 if you ask me,
which of course you didn't, but tbh I don't care.

You have a fistful of keys, put them in a drawer then when you sell the car just give the new owner one key who then has to shell out for a replacement a couple of years down the line, only to find that the one ordered from the main stealer doesn't work because the FOB code has been changed from what's stored on the LR database !!!
I can never fathom out why the majority of second hand cars bought only have one key.
Is it a fetish to collect them.....bit like wanting to collect Minty's knickers ????

Get over it. The bottom line is go to the dealers, buy key for £150 ish. Don't arse around buying stuff you don't need.
The bottom line is it still has to be pugged in to tell it what number keys are active 1,2,3,4. It won't just see a new key. I should know I have just bought one

1. So what you're saying is that you now have multiple keys all of which you have sourced non dealer and all of which operate the alarm and remote central locking as the good lord intended and you completely avoided having to be in as much as the same postcode of a Main Dealer?
2. My learned colleague Rewmer stated that a dealer key would be matched to the car. HOWEVER, will require syncing which I presume requires a plug in. I shall refer you to your earlier post, but you get the DJ Dids remix "You obviously didn't read what REWMER said".

If you are unable to answer a clear and concise yes to point 1. then I don't see much point in continuing to argue.

I bought a new key from Land Rover which came as coded to the car. They still had to plug the car in to T4 to tell it key 1 and 3 are now active. Key 2 was the missing one. If I bought another one it could be programmed as key 2 then I would have three keys.

Blank keys, no code whatsoever. Therefore require coding to the vehicle and syncing.

And if you buy one from Land Rover it will also need coding. If memory serves me the only problem would be that the alarm wouldn't work with the new key set.
It would be already coded to the vehicle from the dealer and only require syncing.

As above

You argued this, then it appears you actually did this!

Is this not syncing the key?

I bought a new key from Land Rover which came as coded to the car. They still had to plug the car in to T4 to tell it key 1 and 3 are now active. Key 2 was the missing one. If I bought another one it could be programmed as key 2 then I would have three keys.
So your genuine Land Rover key was already coded to you car but required the dealer to plug it in to T4 to sync it?. May I refer you to your earlier post stating "And if you buy one from Land Rover it will also need coding."

What was it you were arguing?
