i take it you are still scratching your head over your non starting rangy
try it if it fires and dies you wanna be checking ur fuel system. do a compression test if you worried about that but i was only suggesting a possibility

With some fancy squirting you can run a diesel on Easy start alone.
BE WARNED - Only squirt it whilst the the engine is cranking. Putting it in the inlet and then cranking can lead to all kinds of problem, like snapped con rods, cranks etc.

i dont think thats any good for ur engine. its for starting only if it still dont run look elsewhere

hiya,easystart should start your enigine as long as there is no other problem,thats the first thing that the aa do, to try and fire up the car, but it is not good for your engine as it strips all the lubricants in the engine if you use it to much,what are your symtoms that your car wont start.pat

if you use easy start you must be a knob the addiction the engine gets to it is 'cos it smashes piston rings thus no compression = crack whore rangie

Easy start will not wreck your engine, I used it for years to start old truck engines as they had no heater plugs.
Cummins diesels could have an easy start system fitted if requested and it was a hand pump which pumped a measured amount of easy start into the inlet when the engine was cranking.
I used easy start every winter every morning and I had the truck seven years, it strted normally in the summer so it nid not get addicted to the stuff.
I also had a Ford transit with a York diesel engine and that had an easy start system fitted by Ford. It was a pump on the dash to pump the stuff in whist you crank the engine.
You MUST be turning the engine when you introduce the stuff into the air cleaner/manifold because it expands at a rapid rate and the gas is NOT compressable so when you turn the engine and get a cylinder full it will lock up and if spinning fast enough will bend conrods.
The thing is you only need a small amount, I used to start my 220hp Cummins when below zero with one small shot of easy start introduced into the inlet manifold via a tube, the motor would start instantly every time and the engine had done 250,000miles when I sold it so it does not wreck your engine nor is it addictive if used properly.
People rely on it to start worn engines and then when it wont start without it they blame the easy start.

Good advice, we had an ether start button to assist cold weather starting on our tractors years ago - much better than glow plugs, especially if the battery wasnt too clever.
There was also a Perkins P4 engine that was an absolute bastard to start at the best of times, even in the summer and we soon learnt that too much easy start would lock up the engine.
Trouble is the engine developed a knock and we ended up rebuilding the bottom end.:doh:
That tractor now starts on the button every time now with no easy start or even glow plugs, a problem solved by a combination of fixing the bottom end and sending the injector pump away for refurbishment.
Sure, easy start can be used to get the engine to fire initially, but if it fails to run under its own steam then there surely must be a bigger problem elsewhere.
