It looks like thats my only option, any idea on the ride heights?

According to Atlantic British, the height of a P38 in standard ride height with stock tyres measured from the ground to the top of the wheel well is 31-3/4” in the front, and 32” in the rear. Don't know the rest of the setting heights.

hellooo
turn your key to the 2nd pos then plug your ODB-2 cable into the car then into the laptop with the rs232 to usb adapter on the cable and plug into your laptop.

if you have the drivers and it says ready to use then double click on your usb icon in your system toolbar and click on your rs232 to usb converter then properties, at the bottem you should see a button that says change settings open that and in this new window you should try to find the list of com ports you can choose.

i found that it didnt work with a normal 1 so i selected com 3 that said it was com3(in use) then click ok and open the EAScalibrate software and select com3 on that.

if this also fails then reply and i will try to help :)

Hi gav
Thanks for the info, i have tried ports 1 to 5, as you suggested, but still no luck...............:-(

Hi, I am having problems using the software, I am using a serial to usb converter cable, I have checked it is wired correct and tried linking the two relevant pins in the OBD connector to validate that it is sending and receiving ok. Yet no matter how much I try I cannot get it to sync communicate with the EAS unit, all I get is tx fine and rx will come up with 1 to 10 with any thing from zero´s to random numbers with a letter back. I have tried cleaning and checking the socket under the dash, changing baud rates, different com ports, with FIFO buffer and without, altering delay speeds all to no avail..................I am about to pull out what hair I have left.

Any help suggestions gratefully received
Hi,
I've just joined.
I have used EAS with no prob. What was stressed to me was the importance of the cable. I made my own cable (OBD - USB). No converters. I just cut off the DB9 and wired direct to the OBD. The converter may be routing the wires incorrectly.
Might be worth the price of a lead. I could send you a wiring diagram if you wish.
Did you get your software from Storey Wilson(RSWsolutions)? If not, I can also send you it. Hope this helps

I did get the software from RSW, and the convertor lead is the same as RPI sell on ebay, I am trying to find someone withan old laptop with a serial connection, but no one seems to have one ....:-(

Hi
Your OBD - DB9(serial) lead, if you did not make this lead up yourself, then please check the corresponding pins conform to correct continuity. Hold the plugs in hand & look at the shape as shown. Put a continuity tester on each corresponding pin. Let me know if you have these values, or what values you have. Hope you got pic otherwise I will email.

Lug your desktop out there and trying it without the Rs232/USB converter seems to be the quickest and easiest solution to me.

In the time I've spent typing this, you could have tried that. At least there would have been some progress and we would have more information available instead of just carrying on stabbbing in the dark........

.net framework installed? Good quality usb to serial adaptor? Go and select the com port in device manager. Read the faq on rswsolutions website.

Finally sorted it out, it was a problem with my laptop, tried another one still using the usb adapter and worked first time........Thanks for all the advice guys:)

Hi
The Software: ‘EAS Unlock’ programme is (shareware) free software. If your computer does not have a serial port and you are using a USB to Serial port converter, you must load the converter software first prior to loading the ‘EAS Unlock’ software.
If you’re running an old version of Windows you may need Windows Service Pack 2 & Microsoft.net Framework. `

Any probs just ask
