Just wondering if anyone has tried the EAS Diagnostic cable and EASsuite kicker? I thought it was worth a punt for a little under £20 on Ebay but after 2 days of fiddling with it and changing com ports etc it still won't unlock the EAS. I can see loads of faults and the Tx and Rx columns seem to be doing what they should but no joy when I click the unlock button.
The vendor seems reluctant to answer calls or emails so maybe it's £20 down to experience.:confused:......unless someone knows different.

when starting a thread system suggest other similar, must have suggested you quite a few.



in other words, search, covered many times

Should have bought a cheaper one from me:) You have a problem with the USB driver, maybe you plugged the cable/USB adaptor before installing the driver, Iwould guess you are running Vista, Win7 or 8.
Return it to the vendor for a refund as not fit for purpose.
 
Following sound advice from Datatek I tried the set up on a different laptop and it worked first time. My laptop has Vista which apparently is troublesome when using this sort of thing. The borrowed one which was successful was Windows 7.
This might be a silly question but I wonder if the software could be used with an i pad or tablet, could it be loaded using a memory stick or an external disk player. Might be a good excuse to buy a new toy.:)
 
I run mine on 7 at first it would never connect then It was sugested I maybe had a cheep usb adapter! So I got a decent one and it connected straight away
Are you getting the green idle ligjt?

The only tablet it might run on is a crap windows tablet:mad:

Ive a android tablet I dont use and was thinking of formating it and instaling windows on it! Mainly for that reason
Hopefully the eas suite will work on win8/mobile

You can't, the CPU instruction set is unlikely to be compatable with Windows, there are some that will run Win after a fashion and Android, think expensive:rolleyes: Also on some tablets, the flash memory that holds the Android operating system cannot be re-written by the tablet itself, so lose Android and you have a useless piece of hardware.

With the Vista set up the idle light was red and occasionally flickering green. When connected to the Windows 7 machine it showed solid green and connected straight away. Still thinking about the tablet option but might be better to keep an old laptop or desktop for the rare ( hopefully ) occasions that I need it.

Just get an eas buddy from RSW solutions at rsw.com.
Very user friendly and works great. Has saved me a pile of cash.
I think they are around $ 120.00 US

Waste of money when you can get an old laptop for £50 and run the free EAS software with a £13 cable giving full diagnostics as well as fault reset.

The problem with Vista is finding a USB driver that works with USB to serial conversion.
