Richie,
Unless windoze installed the correct driver, then you will need to remove the "auto installed" driver before using the disk. If windoze got it wrong you will end up with two drivers installed. The correct disk sometimes has a utility to remove previous driver - try this 1st. If EAS Unlock connects and gives the FF, 01 sequence then you should be good.

If you cannot get the sequence, then here's how to remove the rogue driver.
  1. Exit the EAS software.
  2. Keep the cable plugged into PC
  3. Open windoze explorer, and Right-Click the "My Computer" icon. Then select "Manage".
  4. Select "Device Manager", and then expand the "Ports" section.
  5. You should see the USB-Serial Cable.
  6. Right-Click the USB-Serial, and select Uninstall.
  7. Once this completes, unplug the cable.
Now insert the Disk, and install the driver supplied with the cable. Next time you plug the cable, you will still see the "windoze is installing . . . ", but this time it should load the correct driver for the cable.
