Hi folks,

Still getting the sound of an air leak from the front near side but have not been able to trace it . Tried a leak spray near the bag/airline/dryer - no bubbles.

With the sound of the engine a bit difficult to pinpoint.

I opened the front passenger door for something then the sound stopped. Closed the door and it started up again.

Am thinking it can't be the airbag not seated properly because it should still let air out - door open or not.

Any ideas to point me in the right direction please ?

Regards

Alex

Valve block diaphram? Check the exhaust on the valve block.

That would only be a problem if pump was running. Diaphragm is normally in relaxed state for EAS to exhaust air other than when pump is running, when it is sealed by diaphragm solenoid valve to direct air into tank. It's not by any chance the over pressure valve under the block blowing off excess pressure is it? Maybe he needs a new pressure cut off valve.

Hi again,

I can hear the compressor (sometimes) running at the same time as the air hissing.

Occassionally the hissing is not there ( with doors closed )

Thanks so far

You will just have to soldier on until you find it. Very difficult if your not stood next to car, trying to diagnose a problem, some are obvious this one is not. Does the suspension drop at all when you get this leak? If not it is safe to assume it is from the pressure storage side and not from the distribution side.

Try listening with engine off and ignition on? As Wammers says you`ll have to try and provoke the leak to understand which side of the system you`re looking for it. As you know any leveling will cease when door opened (opening and closing affecting noise = leak between valve block & bag)? Leak only when pump running = leak on supply side? The valve block can leak around valve seats, but be careful not to spay over diver pack!

Hi gtland/wammers etc -

With ignition on , door closed, engine not running there is no sound of air escaping.

The suspension does not always drop overnight - two or three seconds after starting and it is back up to last nights level.

When it is hissing out air - engine running , car driving it will get to it's level and stay there - the compressor does run for longer though.

Also sometimes a lot of clicking sounds from within the EAS box in the engine compartment - lifted the lid but cannot pinpoint the sound
