OK, guys.
I have ordered my cable etc from the very nice Mr Datatek, (not sucking up or anything). Won't arrive till next week so have been topping up the suspension via the manual valves that the previous owner put on. Was holding out untill yesterday when the fault changed from just the standard EAS fault, to the EAS fault 35 mph max. Since this change, the suspension will not stay up at all. I can inflate manually untill all four wheels are at 450mm from hub to arch, but, as soon as I drive off, all four drop to the stops. ANNOYING!
Until the fault changed, it would stay inflated for a few days before i had to top it up.
Why would it start dumping all the air I have put in as soon as I drive off?
Any help or suggestions would be really appreciated as it is my first P38 and am still learning. (plus, I need to use it untill my lead arrives next week)
Cheers in advance,
Kieren.
(Oh yes, it is a 99, 2.5 dse)
PS. if anyone tells me to turn it off, then back on again, i will hunt them down and steal their alloys!! :)

Have you removed the EAS relay that's under the passenger seat (for RHD cars) ?

Obviously not.
The system has decided that, for some reason, it's seriously not happy. However you haven't disabled the system. It can't provide pressure to keep it up so all it can do is open valves to try to self level.

It's early morning but isn't the relay under the seat the timer?

If the manual valve are in the pipes and the pipes are still in the valve block, than when the EAS hard faults it dumps all the air. As the other have said, you need to disable the EAS by removing the timer relay under the passenger seat.

sorry, do you mean the delay timer unit under the passenger seat or the relay under the bonnet in the fuse box? (or both??)

DOH! Scratch the last post.:D

well took out the timer relay and inflated it. then i heard a leak at the rear wheel. noticed an elbow on the air hose sticking out of the wheel arch liner. So, jacked everything up, removed wheel, cleaned elbow, trimmed hoses, squared hose to elbow.
Re-inflated it and it seems to be staying up. hooray! just waiting on cable now to clear the fault light. cheers for all your help guys.
