Good afternoon just wondering if anyone can help me with diagnosing what's causing my eas fault and possibly help replace parts and get my p38 back on the road I'm willing to pay. I'm near Accrington Lancashire

Cheers Lee

Basically what happened was a driving a 60mph on motorway and eas fault flashed up flashed slow 35mph car didn't lower straight away. Managed to get home parked her up next car had dropped to bump stops and fault message and 35mph message stays on, compressor doesn't start up. I've ordered a eas lead and software and also I've ordered a compressor refurb kit just in case and I'm financially ready for new airbags etc as I need it right for when the wife drives it. I just need to find someone locally who can give me a hand as I have never touched airbag systems and I don't fancy cocking it up

I would think it might be a height sensor or sticky valve!!!

At above 52(?)mph for 30 seconds the EAS lowers itself to motorway height, the ECU commands the valve to open, the vehicle then lowers and the height sensor tells the ECU when it is at the right height.

If the valve stuck closed and the height change didn't happen, or the height sensor tells the ECU (through the fact the sensor is giving the wrong reading) the height change didn't happen, the system freezes and goes into fault....

Need it on diagnostics to read the fault codes ideally.

Highly likely the compressor thermal switch has failed feeding a leak. Follow this to check compressor.
Checking EAS compressor and diaphragm valve.

Brilliant will work my way through that, if it's gone I'm guessing it will probably mean a airbag leak

Not always, failing or knackered diaphragm will give same sort of fail. Maybe a combination of small problems. Nothing that cannot be sorted, sometimes for little money and just a bit of work. Run through the compressor and diaphragm checks and let me know what you find. One thing is for certain, the EAS will NOT work if there is no air. ;)

Both compressor kit and lead have turned up today so tomorrow will check the codes I haven't ordered a diaphragm kit yet. Forgot to mention I think the rangie was sat for a while as she has only done 1000miles since last mot and due in November I think. Will this cause suspension issues

Run through the checks and note what you need to do. Then get on with it. Fairly easy jobs just take your time.

Just tried plug can't seem to get it working and now a gearbox fault has come up.not a good day help

What plug did you try? Gearbox fault is usually low battery on cranking. You have to describe properly what you are doing could be plug on your kettle for all we know.

Plugged the eas lead I bought on to the rangie in the plug on passenger side under glove box opened software up on laptop but won't connect on any comm and them flashed up gearbox fault. Now I'm trying to find drivers for my USB to serial port adaptor as think that's the connection issue but no luck so far and got rangie on charge

You must load the correct driver for the USB adaptor BEFORE you plug it into laptop. Or windows will use a generic driver and it won't work. You MUST have a green light constant good idle on EASunlock software.

Got it working thanks for your patience. Got a few codes

Fr valve stuck open
Rl valve stuck open
Rr valve stuck open
