Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on this issue. Im sure it has probably come up before, sorry if I'm repeating old threads here however.

Driving home today I got an Air Susp. Inactive message, at first I thought I had lost a bag as this has happened before but this time the car had not slumped in a corner, in fact it is still levelling itself out but is stuck in standard ride height. The LED display indicates Standard height but the hold LED is stuck on. I tried to reset the steering by going lock to lock to try clear the error but to no avail.

I have a suspicion that it could be a front left sensor error as the info system that displays steering angle and suspension heights has come up with an interesting graphic that I have attached below. Has anyone encountered this before? I don't have a code reader, however a friend does but I will not be seeing him for a few more days. Am I on the right track and more importantly, is it still ok to drive it. To get it to my mechanic is the other side of town.

Thanks for any help
Aaron.

If she is sitting square and still leveling to Standard but the graphic shows the Front Left has Dropped - your Height sensor is no doubt up the Swanny...

Check the secuirty of the wiring and multiplug to the sensor and maybe taking it off and cleaning the contacts too....

As it is a soft fault( the vehicle still levels and you have lights on the selector switch) once you have solved the sensor issue the fault should self clear...

If it had gone into a hard fault (no leveling at all, no lights on the switch) you would then have to go to a dealer or get some one with diagnostics to clear it....

Cehck the sensor first, it could just be a dodgy conecction...

Else get it on Diagnostics - see if there are any codes stored - rectify and clear...

My money is on a dicky sensor!!

Thanks for the help. I did have a look at the sensor last night and and you suspected, it was filthy. We had a massive flood by my office last week (Strange as I work in the middle of the Dubai desert). A water dam broke banks and the only way out was by way of some confident driving and range rover power.

Unsurprisingly the underbelly was filthy. I gave the sensor a dust off and on the way to work this morning, she cleared herself and all is happy in the world.

Now as I live in a somewhat dusty city it seems those little multi pin connectors get choked up with all sorts. You wouldn't know of a waterproof grease of sorts that I could try and seal and protect the connector with?

Cheers for the help.

Vasoline works well at waterproofing and stopping the moisture getting in
Lol

Thanks for the help guys.
What did we do before internet and forums huh? Probably haemorrhaged cash at the agency no doubt.
