I am getting the generic EAS FAULT limit speed to 35mph. No other message. I have downloaded the free EASunlock software and ordered a cable. I mistakenly ordered a serial cable instead of the UBS one and dont have the port on my laptop.

I am in desperate need to get this fixed as it is sat on it's bump stops and horrible to drive, so I dont want to send the cable back to the ebay seller and it was my fault anyway.

Maplins sell a Serial to USB converted so will this work ok?

Thanks, got the cable is has something to convert the signal from analogue to digital.

Anyone got any tips before I start doing this? Only had the car for a week so don't know my way around it at all.

OK I did it and it is working ok.

What precautions or checks should I do now? Is this likely to mean I have a real problem or is it possible that the electronics just got a bit confused?

Going to nip to the petrol station to fill the bottomless tank so will give me a chance to test it.

Many thanks for the advice....hope this isn't a sign of things to come :)

Back from a little drive and all seems well. That it can hold £94 in petrol was even more disturbing that driving round without suspension.

My 3 year old daughter was appreciative and demanded that I lower the car so that she could get out.
