Hmm, that's a good question. I think it probably might (assuming the ECU was the problem).

Failing that, you might at least be able to use your EASUnlock software to talk to this one...

I'm really tempted just to lend you my EAS kicker, but I never know when I need it! That would at least take the laptops out of the equations!

Woohoo fitted it and started the car and all warning lights went out and the suspension buttons actualy work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woohoo hope it lasts it may not i turned it off and on a couple of times but still seems fine first time in 2 months lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great news! So it's lifting and everything now?!! Fantastic news.

Congratulations!

its all working the now anyway!! is it possible it was this eas ecu that was knacked? or just cause its new its working just now and if there was a real fault it will come back on this one?

Difficult to say, but at least your laptop might be able to talk to this one.

You might not want to try it until it does go wrong though as just connecting something to the socket puts it into fail mode which you might not be able to clear if it's still being difficult. (Not sure if unplugging it clears it again - it might do if you turn the ignition off an on again). Either way you probably don't want to run the risk of breaking it again unless you have to!

I would tend to think that the original ecu was a bit iffy as you couldn't get your laptop to sync with it, but who knows!?

Keep an eye on it and see if it drops at all while it's standing. If it does, then you may get a pressure switch fault eventually - which is the one I keep getting on mine. Then we'll have to try the EASUnlock route again but I'd leave it for the time being!

honestly i if i ever seen him i would be getting arrested!! but thats another story

Good on yer Grant..really pleased you have got it sorted. Now it seems to be working okay, don't touch it unless you have to. I know it will be tempting to try the EAS software out, but if it aint broke, don't fix it!!
Now you need to concentrate on any other serious faults.....ONE AT A TIME !!!

Good luck
:praise:

thanks john appreciated mate i will not be touching that ever again unless i have to lol went and bought another laptop last night as well just be putting that straight back on!!!

As you say wrxfifers been dead unlucky bought my P38 DHSE around Feb. Replaced the airbags and compressor as soon as I got it home. It let me down on holiday with the caravan when the EAS went down to the stops due to water in a height sensor connector. Cleared the fault with the EAS software in about half an hour and replaced the sensor when I got home. Otherwise it's been totaly reliable. I have replaced the aircon condensor and need to replace the engine oil cooler pipes as they are weeping but I don't think thats too bad for a 9 year old car with 95K on the clock. Great tow vehicle:D:D:D

Ithink if i had been in your shoes it would have been a smouldering wreck by now you must have the patience of a saint with 1 problem after another thank god for this forum its really helpfull with some top people imagine if you had been paying a garage mega bucks
Cheers Alan

Hiya mate, glad things are coming together for you. But if it's any consolation i am having a little bother with my EAS. What has come up is the fact that my ACER laptop which has only USB connectors, no serial port. Cannot sync with EASunlock software using USB-serial adaptor. But my Dell steam driven laptop with a serial port does it every time without problems. Both machines are running XP.

yeah i have been wondering if it was the laptop but i wont be trying it again as its up now! lol

is there not somewhere you could send your old ecu to to get it checked?
might be interesting or are ya just gonna smash it over the fellas head ya got the car off:D
