hi all.

Quite simply, what are the risks of buying a used ecu?

is it simply plug in and it should work? Providing it’s not faulty in the first place?

can these be ‘read’ and reset using diagnostics?

mine is still off-road due to key issues, but the lovely people at the RAC should be putting that right in the next week or two.

thanks as always.

The eas ecu`s rarely go wrong straight swap but you might have to reset heights, if do not have the soft ware it is download able from the Technical archive top left of range rover home page, but you will need a lead to plug in to a lap top Datatek on here will sort you out with one for a few quid if you send PM him your email.

If you have a nanocom you are sorted it will do it no problem although some prefer the RSW software as its a bit easier on a large screen.
I don’t have one, but it will be the subject of a post in new year. I would consider it as an investment. Do other members think it would be a good idea? Can it diagnose all faults?

The nanocom is the best you will get other than full JLR t4 testbook which would be thousands if you can find one
the nanocom will do about 99% the only thing it wont do is really indepth stuff on the becm, and they are always saleable if you get rid of the car as there are always poeple on here looking for one.
