Hi All ! Been having problems with the EAS. New pump fitted and seal kit fitted. Got a slight Leak from a cracked solenoid (two on order), but no other apparent leaks. (Stress it is minor leak)
Fault as follows; front suspension on max height, rear near lowest. Plugging in the rswsolutions software (going thro` comm port 3) I get a message

Power_CycleFailed
System.IO.PortsInternalResourcesWinIoError

The software isn`t receiving a good stream into the Rx box. Am I using the software incorrectly? Or is the driver breaking down and not communicating with the laptop? I have used the cable and USB/Serial Adaptor successfully before, so I don`t think there`s any problem there.
Is there any way to check the driver unit, apart from substituting in a known good one?

As far as i am aware the driver pack does not comunicate with the software. The software talks to the ECU the driver pack is only a switching device that handles the higher voltages needed to operate the valve block. The driver only does what the ECU tells it to do. Try a different com port or clean the connections to the OBDII plug. Are you using a USB to serial adaptor these sometimes give problems? If you are make sure the driver for this is properly loaded in the computer.

Thanks for the reply. I`m fairly... sure the USB/Serial Adapter is set up ok ,as I used it a few weeks ago with no problems, but gotta be worth checking.

try another com port, iv had com ports that flash green/red on the 'status', when connected to the correct com port the 'status' MUST be green

OK. I uninstalled the software for the USB/SerAdap, and now have re-installed it. On plugging in the adaptor I`m getting a message `Hardware Not Recognised`,so I`ve un- then re- installed again. (re-booted to make sure program was wiped, and checked list of programs before re-install). Same: `Hardware not Recognised`. Going in thro DeviceManager -Comm ports no recognition of USB/SerAdap but one `Unknown USB Device`. So has this bit of kit turned up its toes so as to unrecognisable? Can`t see any oil dripping out of it and it doesn`t rattle when I shake it so surely it ain`t broke? No shops around here open on Sunday to try a substitute.

Told you they were a bloody pain. Works every time on my steam driven Dell with serial port.:D:D:D

Tell me! I`m enough of techno-phobe to resist the thought that a cable connector actually needs a software package to work. Or how can summat with no working parts thats a few months old, not been rained on and, not been stamped on. . .yet. . be broke?
Guess I`ll have to get hold of another USB/SerAdaptor just so as to eliminate that as part of the problem.

Anyway thanks for the replies and although I did use the same USB port I did also try all the others .... just in case..... I mean nice sunny day, so I really needed an excuse to stay in, get my temper stoked up, and gnash my few remaining teeth and tear at my few wispy threads of hair....

You should have had a driver disk with your USB to Serial adaptor. Get a card bus to serial adaptor if your laptop supports card bus. Do a search someone on here had your problem and switched to card bus/serial... no more problems. Cheap to buy.

I did have a driver disc with USB/SerAdap. Was all working fine on other laptop, but can`t get it to work on this `un. Getting other laptop back friday so will retry...... EVERYTHING.... then. I know it`s more than just a simple wire twister/joiner, but also fully admit I don`t know owt more than that. Will try and let you know outcome next week.
