Basically i think mine is on its last legs, I'm thinking of just overhauling the whole system, changing the bags which look very tired, possibly for the genIII arnotts, i can't decide, but anyway, I'm looking at compressor options, and wondering if anyone has got rid of the standard compressor and replaced it with something else? I'm looking at compressors similar to the T-Max double cylinder one, which gives 150 psi at 150 litres a minute, although not got a very long duty time, but at those rates it would fill the tank in no time at all and not need to be on for very long... just looking at trying to upgrade it and get better performance from it, wondered if anyone has done or tried already?
if not why not?
Any help or advice gratefully received guys, just offering one up it wont fit in the original box under the bonnet so i'd probably mount it under the bonnet somewhere near maybe fabricate some kindof box i don't know, just looking for a brainstorming session on this!

If the system is in good order, ie. no leaks, the OEM compressor is adequate so why go to the bother of changing it?
It's not just the compressor to consider, there is a temperature feedback to the ECU and you would have to consider the current draw, the control relay may not be up to the job if a different compressor has a higher current draw.

Hi Cj,
Why not run two compressors of the same make as the original, make a small bracket on the wing with the same mounting holes and mount the other compressor indentically as the first(antivibration bushes).Use a 40amp relay wired direct from battery with the sensing side connected to the input main positive of the original pump, this will then run both pumps at the same time without over loading the fuse and relay to original pump.Get the new cylinder and seal kit from ebay(netherlands type at about £40 per pump, fit to pumps and HEY PRESTO double the output per minute, and cheaper than by a hi output device that will make your car buzz like Beehive.
