Ok here's the Defenders bio,

1997 - 300tdi
2" Lift Kit
37" Tyres
Qt trailing arms
2 inch qt spacers
Running on Veg Oil/Diesel Mix
New Balljoints on Steerin Rods/Damper Arm/Drop Arm
New Fuel Filter

Now for the problem

I get to 45-50Mph and the damn thing starts to vibrate like an earthquake just hit. Really violent vibration that almost shook me fillings outta me ead. Take foot of accelerator and shake remains, slow down shake remains but slighly eases, stop vibration stops. Restart journey no shake, build up speed no shake, 45-50Mph and its hold onto fillings again

So WTF could it be ?? Any ideas ?

Haven't had the tracking done yet but it did shake just as bad before the new balljoints too.

Help Appreciated.

props or uj's most likly mine did the same till i put 4 new uj's on

Take your front prop off - stick her in diff-lock and go for a drive .

if its still there ! , put ya front back on and take the rear off and do the same :) .

if the vibes go then you know what prop it is , failing that its not ya props ( you could have 2 stuffed ones tho .... )

Do a search FFS but likeliest cause if not props, is swivels or rear radius arms & rear A frame Ball joint.

Do you really think I didnt ****in search, if all you post from day to day is do a search then **** all will be achieved

You could just offer the advice freely if your going to reply at all. There may be certain circumstances that would contribute to my particular problem and thats why I ask and post the details of mine even down to the fuel used.

When you join the SQL Database Police then you can concern yourself with me posting after some advice until you do then keep your Do A search FFS **** to yourself.

Oh an TA for the pointers ref the swivels etc that at least was constructive.

And posted at least once a week along with all the other suggestions. Is it any wonder we get ****ed off repeating it.
This gets posted a lot too........FOOK OFF COCK AND DO A :search:

I mean no offence and I understand that reading the same questions all the time just annoys in the end but just starting down the Landie path and looking for answers quickly to point me in the right direction.

Suppose I am asking to be spoon fed and I apologise but it helps to nurture noobs like me.

Soz for the short ****ty response previously, I humbly agree to punish myself post haste and endure big brother repeats for 24hrs.

Steady on, no need to go that far:eek:
Don't use the google search in the header banner, use the search button (with an arrow next to it) just below it.

How the **** I managed to miss the fact that UJ's are the probable cause i will never know, anyways nothing to see just a fukin idiot the should Do A search FFS

if it's that violent (uj's tends to be more of a grubmling rumbling than a violent shake) have you thought about maybe the wheels are out of balance - it might even be that there's a big lump of mud or a stone stuck to the inside of one of them?

i second that. sounds like out of balance wheels. especially with your monsters, one weight could make a big difference.

loose wheel nut? but it probably would have come off by now!

egged tyre?

See thats where my confusion sets in, sure I have a grumble from the prop and even a slight clunk when applying power so yeah prop/uj's probably need doing. However the vibration/judder is so great that it literally throws the steering wheel from side to side. feels like the whole front end wants to throw itself of the landy.

Will the likes of Kwikfit be adble to track and balance such a size of tyre?
