Early Defender TD5 Remap Question

Hi all. There are lots of threads on TD5 remaps etc but I can't find an answer to my specific question anywhere.
I am considering having my TD5 remapped - but its a 2000 model so will actually need to be chipped.
The new map will be on the new chip.
My question is - is the new chip then re-programmable through the OBD port? i.e. Can the new map be tweaked through the OBD port at all once the new chip is fitted - (if for example example it was a bit smokey - could it be tweaked once the new chip is fitted?)
I think I read that the new chip is still an EPROM - so I think the answer is no.
Not sure its necessarily a problem - but would like to understand before I decide to get the work done. I'm all for a bit more grunt, but don't want to be stuck with a smokey truck.

Why not call one of the companies that fit this chip l am sure they will tell you.

I used Dynachip he was very knowledgeable but l am sure people will come on and recommend some others as well.

Thanks Lightning - I emailed Dynachip about a month ago and tried calling today (number seemed to be disengaged). But will try them again as they seem to be rated very highly.

l called Dynachip and he’s still well and truly in business
The land line number on the website has been changed but the mobile number still works.

The guy comes out to your home address
He had to turn mine down a couple of times as there was a bit too much smoke, but he does it there and then, after remapping the ECU you both test drive it to see if it’s OK and he adjusts it if necessary.

Ah - I had called the landline on their website - will try mobile!

Ahh. So it turns out my 2000 TD5 has a NNN500020 ECU. Which it isn’t supposed to have but I guess must have been swapped at some point. So that’s good news I think - these ones are flashable aren't they?

Correct.

After having an MSB ecu "chipped" it should then be flashable via the OBD port

Best case speak to a tuner, my reccomendation wouldbe Empire Tuning in Colchester (often travels, but his workshop is worth the drive!)
