Oh, J C,
ever heard of Landrovers ?
been led to believe they rust aswell,

so they say....:D

agree.
on daughters KA,
I had to weld part sill outer,
floor near seatbelt ,
axle location area,
all offside,
nearside was fine?

but also had to change brake caliper some months ago, as it was siezing on, all offside.
but as we live within metres of the north sea, i guess the naughty salty water must have "washed" it at sometime..

as for jap cars - well they dont rust do they?

apart from
Nissan Patrols that collapse
Suzuki ignis - rust all under
Honda Civic
mates MR2
thats before we really get going

over the years between early 70`s & late 80`s,
I raced Bangers & stock cars.
needles to say the cars were "not new" then,
but made quite well in our great land.

an A 60 austin or morris/wolseley/riley, could have been as solid as the day it was made,
or one that needed a checker plate floor on the drivers side, and big plate across the drivers door.
Fiat 124 special T`s (lada shape) were flying machines, but never had much holding them together.
Vauhalls were the same..I found a beut of a 1966 victor,
had a hard head on with a A60,
and broke some ribs on the non colapsable steering, when the seat, roll cage, tank & battery box,
all bolted securely to the floor,
all fell out forwards!
never raced a "known" rotton car since,
but for just one I built as a ladies race car,
a chrysler 200 auto..
wifey took it to scutineering, and scrute said, "dont your old man like you" to mrs...lol
mrs done her races, I took it out to "finish it off" in the allcomers d/d at the end......it DID bend.....:D

So, yes, we did/infact do/ still have cars that rot,
always did have since ww2 I guess.

reminds me of racing across the figure 8 -> :rolly:

Wow. I think I just did a little sex wee in my pants.

What an astoundingly beautiful piece of British engineering at its best.
Def on my list of cars to own :D

Well done to you and team pal. Good effort!
